Nsobe 2013In 2013 the project was given funding to take 20 of our older orphans on a camping trip. The camp was run with the help of Euroclass, a team of 10 teenagers from Denmark who ran and supervised most of the games and performed the ‘Everything’ drama. We also took 2 trainee pastors from the Bible College with us to do devotions and help with translation and even Catherine, our old AQ cook, came with us to prepare all the meals! There were 40 of us in total for 3 days (2 nights) and everything went amazingly, exceeding everyone’s expectations!
There was a mixture of fun times with games, activities and game drives as well as elements of discipleship, Bible study and prayer. It was an amazing time of building relationships not only with each other but also seeing the young people grow in God was a privilege. It was a good opportunity to speak into their lives and help to broaden their horizons. The young people had such a great time that they didn't want to go home! Hope - I have enjoyed so much the Word of God which has caused me to change and to know more about God. I have learnt how to pray and how we should be whenever we are facing problems. Albright - The things I have enjoyed most here in Nsobe are: watching animals, swimming, landing on a canal and the Word of God. I have learnt how to handle the issue of girlfriends and I have received Jesus Christ as my saviour. Jones - I really enjoyed canoeing. I have learnt how to relate with God and how God cares - He gave his life for me and paid the price. The best thing about Nsobe has been interacting with each other. Also watching animals, Bible studying and all the things were so magnificent. Kelvin - I have enjoyed a lot of things in coming to Nsobe. It is the first time I have seen Game park and dam. Thank you to all who brought us here and to God. I have learnt a lot about our lives and how we can live in our world. I also saw many snakes. |
Charity, pictured with two of her three sons, says that she owes her life to KOP. After being involved with witchcraft she was cursed by a neighbour and suddenly became seriously ill. She was ill for several years, KOP supported her children. She gave her life to Christ and things started to improve. We visited her a few weeks ago in August 2011, a visit we all thought may be our last. But God is awesome! And now she is well on the road to recovery.
"Without KOP I don't know what I'd do, they've taken care of my children and they've given me hope. I am so grateful to them!"
